From a distance, the new Dent easy chair looks like it’s sculpted in clay. When you sit on it, it’s all soft, enveloping leather. The new addition to the Dent family by o4i (office for ideas), keeps the original three-dimensional surface in ordinary veneer, but now with a large generous ”dressed” seat shell fixed on a swivel frame.

The art of taming a hard, flat surface

People probably want to hear that Dent was created on a piece of paper that was crumpled up and thrown away – only to be miraculously rediscovered and rescued. That would have been a fantastic story!

But the truth is that the creation of Dent involved intense work to tame a hard, flat surface into a double-curved seat shell, carefully and comfortably formed to the contours of the body. And we succeeded!
